Superior Hosts Blood Drive to Help Save Lives within the Community

Last October, Superior chose to host a blood drive in order to help save lives of those in need within the community.

To help make this event a success, they partnered with Georgia's #1 local community blood bank supplier, LifeSouth. LifeSouth brought a bloodmobile and a team of trained healthcare professionals. They provided donors with a recognition item and cholesterol screening.

To help generate interest and boost employee morale, Superior also incorporated a barbecue potluck and cook-off. Employees signed up to compete solo or in teams and tasting judges voted on the best barbecue.

Over 125 employees participated in this successful event. The bloodmobile was in constant use throughout the event and all of the barbecue was gone within an hour and a half.

"It was a fun day! One of our first events of community involvement projects was a success with more to come," Delores Terrell, Human Resources Manager said.
