PlayCore announces PCI 4000 Certification

PlayCore, a leading manufacturer and marketer of play and recreation products is proud to announce that its Southern Fulfillment Center (SFC), located in Fort Payne, AL, has recently earned certification by the Powder Coating Institute (PCI) for excellence in powder coating.  The PCI 4000 Certification uniquely recognizes powder coaters who have the competency and processes in place to produce quality powder coated products.

Powder coating is a high-performance painting process which must be maintained and controlled to optimize the performance of the finish. PCI Certification is an extensive audit program that evaluates business practices, process elements, equipment, maintenance practices and quality control capabilities of a coater to ensure they are capable of producing a high-quality powder coated product.

PlayCore’s Southern Fulfillment Center was evaluated over 11 criteria including surface preparation, ovens/curing, quality control, training, maintenance, packaging and customer satisfaction. The rigorous criteria ensures that the powder coating achieves a high level of excellence throughout the process.

“Quality and customer satisfaction are our number one goals,” stated SFC General Manager, Spencer Cheak. “To be recognized by a third party for our conscientious manufacturing practices and processes is not only a testament to all the hard work our team puts in to ensure a top-quality product, but an overall assurance of quality that our customers can trust.”
