A new survey from the International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA) found that teachers agree that outdoor free play gives kids many valuable benefits, including the growth of physical, emotional, social and cognitive skills. IPEMA’s Voice of Play initiative program promotes growth in the quality and quantity of children’s free play and the use of playgrounds, and it hopes this data will shed light on the importance of recess.
