CPRA Promotes Play & Recreation
Parks are essential to creating healthier, happier societies across generations! Be inspired by leadership case examples of outdoor park destinations that thoughtfully align with evidence-based design best practices to support community health and wellness. Demonstrate community impact, and discover strategies to promote physical activity across generations, address physical and social inclusion, and integrate nature into the everyday spaces of childhood. Interactive and hands-on learning experiences will inspire and equip learners with knowledge and valuable resources to passionately advocate for high-quality play and recreation destinations.
Learning Objectives:
1. Develop an advocacy message describing why play and recreation is essential to a healthier, happier society.
2. Summarize three evidence-based design best practices to create high-quality outdoor play and recreation destinations.
3. Discuss model projects, positive community outcomes, and the health and wellness benefits of inclusion, physical activity, and nature.
4. List five tools/resources to assist with the planning of outdoor play and recreation destinations.
