We are a leading custom GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) facility specializing in innovative architectural and structural solutions. Our expertise extends to creating unique and imaginative play sculptures that combine durability and aesthetic appeal. We are seeking a talented GFRC Sculptor to join our creative team and help bring our custom and decorative play sculptures to life.

Position Summary:

The GFRC Sculptor will be responsible for sculpting and shaping concrete over rebar and lath substructures to create custom and decorative play sculptures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sculpting, a keen artistic eye, and experience working with GFRC or similar materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sculpt and shape GFRC over rebar and lath substructures to create detailed and artistic play sculptures according to project specifications and designs.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and other team members to ensure the artistic vision and structural integrity of the sculptures.
  • Utilize various sculpting tools and techniques to achieve desired textures, shapes, and finishes.
  • Inspect and refine sculpted surfaces to ensure quality and adherence to project requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation and setup of materials, including rebar, lath, and GFRC mixtures.
  • Assist in other general labor tasks as needed to support facility operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored and maintained.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to creative brainstorming sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records of sculpting activities, including time, materials used, and project progress.
  • Provide input and feedback on sculpting techniques and improvements to enhance the quality and efficiency of the sculpting process.
  • Participate in creating molds for concrete products.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; formal education or training in sculpture, fine arts, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sculpting, preferably with concrete or similar materials.
  • Strong artistic skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient in using sculpting tools and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret design plans and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of materials, textures, and finishes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a creative team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Physical ability to perform sculpting tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to sculpting and construction.
