Company Overview:

We are a leading custom GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) facility specializing in innovative architectural and structural solutions. Our projects include unique and imaginative play sculptures and custom structures. We are seeking a dedicated Craftsman to join our team and handle various labor jobs crucial to our operations.

Summary:

The Concrete Craftsman will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including building crates for shipping, loading GFRC structures onto trucks, mixing GFRC concrete, mold assembly and construction, spraying GFRC into molds, and arc welding inside precast concrete. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction or manufacturing environments and be able to work efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build sturdy crates for the safe transport of finished GFRC play structures.
  • Load and secure GFRC structures onto flatbed trucks for delivery.
  • Use heavy machinery including telehandlers, forklifts, and scissor lifts
  • Mix GFRC concrete using both small mixers and large batch mixers according to specified formulas.
  • Assist in mold assembly and construction to ensure accurate and efficient casting.
  • Spray GFRC into molds, ensuring even coverage and adherence to specifications.
  • Disassemble molds carefully to avoid damaging the GFRC structures.
  • Perform casting operations for GFRC structures, ensuring quality and precision.
  • Carry out arc welding tasks inside precast concrete structures as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored and maintained.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist in other general labor tasks as needed to support facility operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor activities, including time, materials used, and project progress.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a construction or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with concrete, mold assembly, wood working, heavy machinery, and arc welding.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with heavy machinery such as forklifts, telehandlers, and scissor lifts
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to construction and manufacturing.
